Artist
Statement
I
am a sum total of my experiences. My art is an expression of the people,
places, and things that shape my view of
the
planet. I am a child ofthe1950’s. I feel the form of a box neatly
conveys the world of middle class Christian
standards
and values into which I was born and bred. Circumstances and time have
greatly altered my perception.
My
creations are dark, irreverent, often cynical displays utilizing images
of icons of our confused new age. These
works
are filled with humor and snippets of my private life. Though deeply
personal, my work is easy to grasp.
Simply put, I communicate my exp
eriences. People open my boxes; they understand and smile.

Current
Work
The
boxes I create are mixed media. They are pieced together with bits of
found and carefully selected objects. My
boxes
are playful and suggestive. They encourage curiosity and reward the
viewer with a peek inside. They are
thought
provoking and can be read on many levels. They celebrate the socially
and politically incorrect and force
the
observer into a state of self examination and exploration.
